Shown in Russian
A wonderful play by Samuel Marshak, one of the most popular 20th century children’s authors.

The story unfolds in the traditional style of Russian folk tales as it describes the adventures of Trouble-Misfortune (Gore-Zloschast’e) which gets into the lives of everyone from the Woodcutter to the Merchant to even the Tzar until it finally meets its match - the brave Soldier, Ivan Tarabanov. Everybody wants to get rid of Trouble-Misfortune, but the Soldier finds a way to live with it and to handle everything that it dishes up.

This play, funny and sad is full of witty jokes and proverbs; with new songs and accordion accompaniment by Nina Tritenichenko, with terrific “Khohloma” setting by Olesya Archipova, Elena Berger and Zoya Leznik. It is great entertainment for families with children and grandchildren ages 4 – 14.
